Twice 03:34
Twice the intended In my single bed For far too long We've been far too distant I'm glad you made the descent We've got the benefit Of being friends And the rest Is the best but we know It's not the be all and end Never regretted Any time we spent Never gave me A night laid awake Wondering what we meant And I won't pretend To have it figured out I'm aware It's not forever But it's perfect for now You've got your problems And I try to help Yes I'm familiar I've struggled with myself myself I know it's commoner To go for wealth But my wish above all else Is that you love yourself It's that you love yourself

Staying with a friend It's been a while Are you beguiled Or is it temporary ends Cause your texts have been less Frequent of late You never used to make me wait I'm sitting in my landlady's house On the absence of a couch I have to wonder Do you have someone now And does he treat you how I want to Cause I can't help Being jealous When I'm thinking there's someone new I'll admit that we weren't serious But at times I almost wanted to Did you want me to Girl were we ready to Staying with a friend I've got the envy Cause the place in which I'm living's Almost permanently empty You still haven't made a visit I know it's distant But I said I don't mind paying you for the tickets I'm still sitting in my landlady's house On the absence of a couch And I must wonder Do you have someone now And does he treat you how I want to Cause I can't help Being jealous When I'm thinking there's someone new I'll admit that we weren't serious But at times I almost wanted to Did you want me to Girl were we ready to And it always helped to know That I had some place to go If I ever felt too alone But your doorstep's different now That I can't just come on through And my bed feels far more empty Knowing yours is full Cause I can't help Being jealous When I'm thinking there's someone new I'll admit that we weren't serious But at times I almost wanted to Did you want me to Girl were we ready to Did you want me to Girl were we ready to So you're staying with a friend And really I don't mind I'm just hoping you're alright Cause I know I never said But it really was the best When we passed each other's time

DIWMFT 03:54
So did I waste my fucking time Trying to help you fix your life Cause girl you never changed And after just a week or two Of the same advice from someone new Girl you ain't the same I was hatchbacking hatchbacking 419 See your name in the address I've got to lay it by And take some time to reply You're explaining why you're Giving what's his name a second chance I was a skeptic now I understand Seems he did what I couldn't do Seems he found a way through to you And I had over five hundred days But your problems never went away Was it something I didn't say Or rather something that you did not feel Cause on a list of the help he gave Oh I can hear echoes of myself Trying to persuade you So what's the difference So did I waste my fucking time Trying to help you fix your life Cause girl you never changed And after just a week or two Of the same advice from someone new Girl you ain't the same Now you're backtracking backtracking It's 12/09 you walked away from him You're saying it's the last time Girl I hope that you're right Cause he never changed and girl I understand There's no incentive if you come straight back Only thing that you did was prove He can do what he wants to you And you say you want to take the good with bad But it's worse than you should ever have Girl why'd you want to live like that Gone for good you remember that Sent you a list of the things he hates about you I hope it don't go downhill from here But girl it's bound to So did I waste my fucking time Trying to help you fix your life Cause girl you never changed And after just a week or two Of the same advice from someone new Girl you ain't the same So did I waste my fucking time Pointing out the warning signs Girl do you want the pain And I know you'll always just do you But when you set yourself up for abuse It really seems a shame

I Knew 03:27
I knew that you Would accuse me of lying If I told you that you still looked pretty Even though you'd spent the whole morning crying And I know it's true That I'm biased But it's the first time That I've seen you in a while I love how you smiled When you found my eye Take your time While you tell me what he's done now Girl take your time It'll all work out We took a walk in the park And saw the leaves turn to gold Then you took me home Just to hold you Cause I could barely raise my voice to you If I tried Let alone raise a hand to you On my life I don't want you to be alone I'm glad that you moved on Just the direction's wrong Oh here we go again You want an ear But you're never listening Only took 7 days for you to cave I only hope he don't escalate Are you really so scared to go You downplay what you said before Cause he'll be banging on your door If you don't pick up that phone So you put yourself on hold

about

The four songs on this EP follows the twists and turns of my relationship with one of my closest friends over the past year. She struggled a lot and at the same time I was seriously lonely and questioning myself a lot.

All that has led to a collection of songs that really cover new ground and have let me be more honest and raw with my voice. I'm still figuring out what I'm doing both in terms of my music and my life, but I think this is a step forwards.

about

Fletcher, James UK

Fletcher, James is a Bristol based singer, songwriter, and producer. Shying away from the path more travelled, he employs heartfelt and deeply melodic vocals laced with the wordplay of hip hop and layers them atop a framework of unorthodox song structures and lush chord progressions.

His debut album "All We're Meant To Do?" is out now.
